The Ohio Vision Zero Safety Summit
Location: McConnell Heart Conference Center at Riverside Methodist Hospital - Columbus, Ohio



The Ohio Association of Critical Care Transport will offer a program to the Critical Care Medical Transport Community focused on Ground and Air Transport Safety. If you currently work in any area of Ground and Air Transport including; Communication Specialists, Critical Care Transport Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Critical Care Paramedics, Local Emergency Medical Services, and Law Enforcement, you will not want to miss this crucial event that will change the way you practice.

Maximum Impact: A story of survival. “Jonathan Sole survivor from a medevac crash shares his experience, lessons learned and the years that have followed. This presentation is dynamic and applies
to all who work in the air medical community.

Robert Feerst
Mr. Feerst is the President of Utilities/Aviation Specialists Inc., a Crown Point, Indiana, consulting firm that specializes in wire-strike avoidance research and solutions for clients such as Transport
Canada and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Operational Control Specialist Course:

As an answer to the NAACS Safety Summit and many changes across the HEMS community, the NAACS board is offering a NAACS Operational Control Course (NAACS-OCC). This curriculum goes beyond the
current NAACS Certified Flight Communicator curriculum (NAACS-CFC) by providing greater training in aviation policy and regulation, weather, navigation, flight following, air traffic control, information specific
to operational control of helicopter, fixed wing and ground operations, aviation communication, crew
resource management (CRM), and terminology as it specifically relates to operational control.

Certified Flight Communicators Course:

This course will be filled with information specific to the field of Air Medical Communications. Information such as the history of air medical transport, navigational skills, map reading skills, post accident/incident planning, and stress management are all covered extensively in this course. Speakers from various air services as well as local Air Medical Communication Specialists are brought in to speak on these as well as many other topics. The instructors have many years of experience in the communications field as well as a wide variety of other qualifications.

September 17 (8 Hour Courses)
Robert Feerst - Wire Strike Avoidance Training
Survival Training:

Come learn how to escape the sinking cockpit in the event of a water landing and then build a shelter,
navigate and signal rescuers. All day course with lunch provided. Limited to 40 participants.

CEU Information:

 

1.5 hours CEU’s for Pre Conference Survival Training

6.0 hours CEU's for Main Conference


EMS credit and certificates are issued in compliance with the requirements of the State of Ohio EMS Board.
